GHA’s London and Birmingham offices combined forces to provide fresh thinking for Site A of the Maple Quays development in London’s Canada Water.
The practice reworked an existing masterplan for Barratt London and drew up fresh, detailed proposals and reviewed design codes to ensure that the courtyard and tower development is contextual, with retail and other facilities on main frontages.
The scheme is now better integrated into the surrounding area including an emerging civic square at Canada Water station. A full environmental impact analysis for the 27-storey landmark tower was prepared and a biomass CHP plant integrated into the plans. The new units meet Lifetime Homes Standards and the Code for Sustainable Homes Level 4.
