Manchester’s civic heart and historic St Peter’s Square has had its environs significantly improved by GHA’s competition-winning redevelopment of a tired 1970s office block.
GHA was appointed as lead designer to develop proposals for a new BREEAM 'excellent' rated office building set above an active retail and cultural space frontage. It completes the south side of the square providing it with a better sense of enclosure. The classical, tri-partite cast stone facade, drawn up in dialogue with English Heritage, acknowledges the portico of the Central Library opposite.

Internally, the 2,090 sq m office floor plates allow flexible cooling strategies for multiple tenants, with sweeping views over the square.

"The City Council is delighted with One St Peter’s Square as it sets a new standard of office accommodation available in Manchester and is ready to support the growing demand from international businesses looking to relocate to the city centre."

The reception hall includes two contemporary installations by prominent artist, Mark Titchner: “Live the Life that you Imagine” and “Dream after Dream after Dream”.
