At the heart of the old Queen Elizabeth Hospital is Lanchester & Lodge’s 1930’s block whose architectural qualities have offered a starting point for a complete rethink of a hospital campus that had become degraded after decades of piecemeal additions.

Site plan

GHA has helped the NHS Trust – one of the largest in the UK – to create a masterplan that supports its ambitions in the immediate future, proposes to repair the damage caused by the past ad-hoc changes and creates a well connected health care campus that has world-class significance.

The new campus prioritises high-quality healthcare and research buildings and an attractive pedestrian environment with new routes through as part of transforming the site into a facility with global relevance.
