Victorian Pub to Family Home
January 17, 2020This converted Victorian pub to family home has been tastefully rearranged and extended in collaboration with the clients, John and Mary Mulryan.
Flowing spaces have been enhanced and the use of natural light optimised to create a positive addition to the conservation area that it lies in.
In addition to employing a material palette in keeping with the prevailing character of the local area, GHA has preserved the original form of the corner volume and butterfly roof to provide a tasteful addition to its urban context. Original materials and features, such as the exposed brick walls and ceiling joists, have been kept to maintain honesty.
This reimagined home now provides a calming family residence that connects with its outside spaces. A new roof terrace acts as an extension to the kitchen, allowing children to play inside and out.
Earlier this month, Living Etc magazine featured the property in their February issue.
